Preserving gaming history
For free. For everyone. Wherever you are.

The Video Game History Foundation opened their online library last week. What kind of information can you find there? Also, all the latest gaming news. Let’s go!
Going through the gaming archives
The Video Game History Foundation opened the virtual doors last week to their online library, a collection of video game materials, magazines and more. Their motto: "For free. For everyone. Wherever you are."
The library was first announced in late 2023, and currently offers a number of game resources, including:
- Never-before-seen game development materials.
- Artwork, press kits, and promotional materials from iconic video games.
- Over 1500 full-text searchable out-of-print video game magazines—including game industry trade magazines rarely available to the public.
- The first 100 CDs from the art and press release archives of GamePro magazine, reformatted for modern computer browsers.
- Guidebooks, promotional materials and more.
The collection is designed for "anyone who wants to study video game history," but is a fun resource for those who used to read gaming magazines or enjoy classic games. You can find their catalog here, and let us know anything fun you find in the comments.
