The White House Launches Their Own Virtual Arcade
Plus, Sony shows off new trailers at their latest State of Play
We are back after a long weekend here in the U.S. Sony held a State of Play last week and showed off a few new games. Also, the White House launched an “arcade” on their website. It isn’t great to say the least. All this and the rest of the news. Let’s go.
Sony's latest State of Play
Sony held a State of Play and provided updates on in-development games. You can check out everything announced, but here are a few new games they showed:
Uncanyon
A forgotten world emerges in this new puzzle adventure scheduled to release in 2027.
Rhapsody in Scarlet
1920s New York means gangsters, jazz and magic? It does in Rhapsody in Scarlet. No release date yet.
Maneater 2
You are a shark trying to escape Neptune's Kingdom, a luxury resort and theme park with tasty tourists. Maneater 2 is scheduled to release next year.
Hunter’s Moon
Set in 17th-century England, Hunter’s Moon is about a witch hunt. The game takes place in one night, is based on historical folklore and releases October 26.
Some other notes from Sony’s virtual press conference:
- Final Fantasy VII Revelation will receive two expansions featuring the characters Sephiroth And Vincent. The game will also have a $500 special edition that is only available in Japan.
- PlayStation announced a pair of limited edition Grand Theft Auto 6 controllers.
- A lego version of the original PlayStation releases October 4.
The White House launches an arcade
The United States White House launched the “Trump Arcade” last week on their website. The virtual game area offers players five games, most of which are copied from real games. Some of these include:
- Flappy Bill, which is Flappy Birds, but you play as an eagle carrying a bill through Washington D.C.
- Rio Run is a version of the game Snake where you play as a white person who looks like President Donald Trump, and you gather up people of color. Once you “capture” them, they are given orange jumpsuits and follow you.
- Build The Wall is literally Tetris, where you are using the bricks to “protect the border from the coming horde.” When you lose, you get a message that says “border breached.”
The games are being used to promote Trump’s agenda, but they have come under scrutiny. The official Tetris site says they are not involved with the creation of “Build The Wall,” and say they take copyright infringement “very seriously.”

😠 Sony says that “reasonable consumers” realize that they do not own the digital games that they purchase.
🫣 Hideki Kamiya, director of the original Resident Evil 2, says the latest batch of RE games are too scary, and players should be able to turn down the horror.
📺 Konami held their own press conference called Press Start to provide updates on a few of their upcoming games, including Silent Hill Townfall.
🙍🏻♀️ The studio behind Star Wars Zero Company reportedly furloughed about 80% of their employees weeks before the game released.
🖥️ Those using Nvidia’s new DLSS 5 AI feature are seeing huge performance hits to their games, with frame rates dropping up to 73%.
🏆 The 2026 Pokémon World Championships recently took place. Here are all the winners.
👨🏽💻 12TB of older Steam data leaked online, containing information on every title available on the service between 2003 and 2013. Kotaku broke down everything they found.
💿 Witcher developer CD Projekt Red says they have no plans to abandon physical releases, although they admit they might need to get creative with them.
