Plus the 2026 Dice Tower Award winners
We are back from Gen Con, and have the latest updates from the event, including how Dungeons & Dragons plans to expand its universe. Also, all the winners from the Dice Tower Awards and more gaming news. Let’s go.
Dungeons & Dragons goes Universes Beyond
Role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons is expanding into new worlds.
At Gen Con 2026, Wizards of the Coast announced Universes Beyond, a program to create licensed content with the D&D mechanics. Their first collaboration will be with video game maker Blizzard, as the companies are launching Dungeons & Dragons: World of Warcraft November 17. Designers say the game will offer 11 new species and 9 subclasses that allow players to create their favorite World of Warcraft character. New spells, monsters and dungeons will also be part of the expansion.
Warcraft is not the only property getting the Universes Beyond treatment. Wizards of the Coast is also working with Disney on a Star Wars crossover called Season of Rebellion. This crossover is anticipated to launch sometime in 2027.
