Disney and Square Enix provided some big updates for the Kingdom Hearts franchise. Find out the details. Also, Twitch turned on generative AI training by default for all users. Finally, check out the top tabletop roleplaying games for 2026 as voted on by fans. All this and more. Let’s go.

Kingdom Hearts 4 releases next year

The next Kingdom Hearts game, an epic series that mixes Disney and Square Enix characters, will arrive late next year.

At Disney’s D23 fan expo, participants were treated to a preview of Kingdom Hearts 4, which incorporates a new world based on Pixar’s movie Coco. When asked if there was a possibility of the game being delayed, director Tetsuya Nomura said “that is not happening.”

Along with the new game, a Kingdom Hearts animated series is being developed for Disney+. The series will feature a brand new story that Nomura says “ will expand on the universe of Kingdom Hearts while celebrating the characters that have captured the hearts of millions of fans around the world.” No release date for the new show was provided.

According to Reuters, “Kingdom Hearts is one of nine video games that have grossed more than $1 billion at retail for Disney.”

Twitch turns on AI training

Amazon-owned Twitch streaming platform recently added an option for training their generative AI, and turned it on for all users. Needless to say, people are not happy. However, Amazon does not care.

In a stream after it was officially announced, Twitch chief product officer Mike Minton and head of community Mary Kish answered questions about the decision to turn this on by default for all users. During the chat, Minton explained why:

Now why is it not opt-in? That’s what everybody here is spamming in chat. I get it. “Let me opt in versus making me opt out.” There’s an honest answer, and I think most of you can probably appreciate this: If it was opt-in, nobody would opt in. That’s honestly the answer.

For those who want to turn off Twitch’s AI training, go to the Settings > Security and Privacy tab, scroll all the way to the bottom and click the button next to Training for Generative AI. Twitch won’t label which channels are not using the AI “feature,” so streamers are doing it themselves.
