The Biggest Announcements from Summer Game Fest Week!

If you are excited by trailers for new games, this week’s newsletter has you covered! Summer Game Fest, Microsoft, Sony and Epic all had press conferences to show off their latest games. We have a lot to cover, so let’s dive in. Let’s go!

Summer Game Fest

Summer Game Fest has become the predominant virtual event for video game fans. Originally envisioned as competition for a now-deceased event called E3, Summer Game Fest evolved into a week of press conferences hosted by various publishers and gaming companies.

The actual Summer Game Fest live stream is the main event for the week. The show took place last week in Los Angeles. You can watch it in its entirety above or read about everything announced, but we picked out some of our favorite trailers from the event.

Atomic Heart 2

The alternate history game that imagines Russia as a technology power returns. This time it is even weirder. No release date yet.

Wu-Tang: Rise of the Deceiver

The iconic New York rap group returns with its first new video game in nearly 25 years. Wu-Tang: Rise of the Deceiver was announced as the group kicked off their farewell tour.

Lego Voyagers

A new two-player cooperative Lego game about building a rocket.

Resident Evil Requiem

Return to Raccoon City in the latest game in the classic horror franchise. The fright arrives Feb. 27, 2026 on PlayStation, Xbox and PC.

Xbox Game Showcase

Microsoft’s Xbox Game Showcase appears to be the biggest event of the weekend, with a ton of major announcements. You can watch the entire event above or check out everything announced, but, you guessed it, here are just a few of our favorites.

Keeper

From the studio that brought us PsychoNauts comes a new game where you play as *checks notes* a walking lighthouse. If you are intrigued by this beautiful and strange game, you can find it on Xbox and PC Oct. 17.

Grounded 2

The unofficial “Honey I Shrunk the kids” game returns, in a much bigger arena. Build what you need to survive (or a whole city, if that is your thing), and try to withstand the giant spiders, ants and other animals in a local park. Grounded 2 arrives July 29 on Xbox and PC.

Clockwork Revolution

No timeline on this Steampunk build-your-own revolution game, but it sure does look cool.

The Outer World 2

The new space corporation game arrives on PlayStation, Xbox and PC Oct. 29. It will also be Microsoft’s first confirmed $80 video game.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7

Activision’s annual soldier game takes on a high-tech feel in their latest Call of Duty game. No details on a release date, but it can be expected late in 2025.

Even more announcements!

The Witcher 4

As we mentioned, there were additional virtual events last week, including the PC Gaming Show, the Future Games Show and the Day Of The Devs showcase. While most were not as big as those mentioned before, there were a few games that caught our eye.

This preview came from an Unreal Engine demo at their own developer festival. Still, an in-depth look at an upcoming huge game like The Witcher 4 had people talking.

The Expanse: Osiris Reborn

This trailer was revealed at the Future Game Show, and fans of the series seem pretty excited about the new game.

Relooted

“Is it stealing to take back what was stolen?” This is the question asked in Relooted, where players steal artifacts from Western museums and return them to Africa.
